Sandra Peterken

Sandra Peterken

I came late to painting in oils, but not to colour, texture and form. Through my 3D training I have explored clay, plaster and metal sculpture and this has influenced greatly my approach to painting.

I manually manipulate paint, often applying it with my hands: blending, rubbing, smearing and making it dribble - creating movement and mood.

I often paint the sea, especially the Cornish seascape near to Padstow where I have my studio.
